Shooting beauty and macro is one of my passions. The amount of creativity that goes into each shoot from everyone in the team makes me happy in my pants, oh yeah. So I got with makeup artist Tammy Mead and model Angela Lum through some ideas in the air and everyone caught them with ease.

This first look I wanted was a very clean and surreal view. Look closely… aaaaaaa. The lighting was very clean as you can see with one mono-light with the umbrella 6.5 feet in the air to create soft shadowing around the model and the background. Magic was used to keep her hair up in the air like that. Yes, Hogwarts is real, don’t hate.

Now these below were used with the same setup but the difference is I threw in the Excalibur3200 with a snoot to get a blast of light very close to the subject to get a glare or highlight. On top of that very minimum post processing was used, hence veins in the eyes and other natural objects that are normally removed.

These last two were created with only the snoot in the same location for very deep shadows to ensure a very deep and moody appearance.
