Vee seriously killed the last break dancing event. Talk about an all day adventure into popping and breaking. He hosted the event at the Italian Social club which really needed a expanding spell or something. I only stayed for a an hour or two and played around with a lot of video, which is still being tested with so I will be uploading those in another day or two.

For all those who were in the competition i gotta say big ups. The styles and fluidity of the moves are seriously improving, and i’m excited for the next event.

90% of these were taken with no flash and very very high iso. wanted to get that grittiness up in there. keep the style nice and rugged.

This time it was at Cafe Moda in Las Vegas; a 1v1 in celebration for Knucklehead Zoo’s Broadway performance. The vibe was high and the skills brought down the roof. The biggest, baddest were there, and who came out on top you ask? Mig 187 from Knucklehead Zoo and Angels of Death.

vee produced vegas shake down 5 another sensational break dancing competition with the largest turn out to date. the most sensational crews competed, but too bad i was only able to see an hour of the madness.

at least I was able to see Knucklehead Zoo, House of Reps, Angels of Death, Battle Born and Runaway Tribe. Full Force competed but didn’t stay long enough to witness the magic. Next event is being hyped to be twice as insane.

Every time I shoot events like this i tend to go more artistic. shooting clean is too easy and unexciting for something this explosive. i love to encapsulate the picture with the emotions surrounding it. shot it with a couple of different methods using two TTL’s. made sure to get some no flash high iso shots to capture the other photographers lighting making shadowing very dramatic.

used the 40D with the 28mm and 115mm for depth of field and major contrast.

The first of many that Vee produced, and the turnout you ask? A 3v3 battle at an even bigger venue yielded even better results. Their was no doubt everyone brought their a-game. Again i wasnt able to stay the whole time but it was very inspirational, and the most memorable had to be Knucklehead and House of Reps.
