snow capped las vegas mountains

las vegas is known for its mountains. specifically Red Rock Canyon. After three days of rain which was extremely relieving and refreshing the clouds formed into mythical creatures surrounding the mountains which were capped with snow.

the snow was restricted so not all of Vegas saw the beautiful white stuff on their front lawns. i drove down to the mountain side to get these shots. one angle was taken in a construction zone which provided the view of the amazing cloud formation in the first shot. the other were taken along side the Red Rock Canyon passage were 90% of cars pulled over to get picture of something that is rare to this town.

the pictures were technically easy to shoot. High aperture (f8) to stay away from shallow depth of field, and to make sure detailed was captured in the clouds. Used the 100mm which provided amazing clarity. i will probably be writing about this lens in the near future.
