a night in the life of a vegas nightlife photographer

When im out shooting events and concerts for spyonvegas, 944 Magazine or Six Degrees I always hear “wow you must love your job” or “I’m jealous of your job”. Oh really??? You are??

If you are then you really must enjoy having to elbow your way through hordes? Maybe you bathing in the cleansing lake of sweat falls, or possibly the lovely aroma of .. everything, seriously, everyone’s dancing, it gets crazy.

You think it’s so easy huh, just take pictures you say. Here I am to prove you wrong. This is a typical night in photos for all us who shoot nightlife. So read on and get ready for a surprise.

Good morning sunshine the world says hello!!!! Painfully wake up at 9:30pm from a 15 minute power nap and time for some nutritious breakfast after staying up all day. FUUEELLLL, gotta refuel at every turn, you never know when ya gotta bolt to catch up to that cutie!!!

The I head off to see my girlie girl over at her new gig and say whats up to my east coast boy DJ Toast and in transit you see lots of crystal, that’s her name, the one on the flyer, shes very popular, and apparently shes waiting for your phone call.

After that I pick up my boy and we head on a troop to get a shot of Supermodel Jesse Preston, and like all superstars they make you wait ten hours. (If your reading this Jesse i’m only joking, please don’t throw chancletas at me, you know your awesome.)

Then on to the actual event work, and guess what, it’s more crowded than Manhattan at 8 am. Except there is no #5 downtown express.

No matter what, I knock out the first wave of generic happy posing shots as if I’m Pacquiao.

Then I get a high five for being awesome. BAM!

Take a little break and watch girls TRY to dance, laughter ensues.

Then get directed to shoot the celebs in the hizzouse. Good things these two were very friendly and informational. Bigups! All you celebs should learn from this, being nice gets you big ups, maybe a high five, or if your especially nice, a pound.

People either walk away, get security join in and throw stuff when they see a scuffle, I take pics.

Finish shooting that winding then head to the next hootenanny and get stuck in traffic looking at horrible pictures on the hot babes truck. Bummer, seriously though, couldn’t they have better looking girls?

If you are my boss’ or metro, that bottom right picture in no way indicates the amount of drinks I may have had due to job related stress. It’s just a picture, and that girl isn’t taking a picture for evidence she just thought I was sexy, that happens very often, they especially love throwing underwear at me.

Then I get flipped off for shooting his girl and not him.

See that, in the glass, yeah, all of it was on my blazer right after that picture. I was taking pic of her friend then she starts yelling something about taking pics of her cleavage and gives me a vodka and tonic shower. Thanks

The highlight of the night, a surprise performance by Mike Jones, WHO? Mike Jones, betta recognize.

And all of this happens nightly in this crazy city of sin. *sigh* Time to sleep for maybe 4 hours. Good night.

Before I start getting hate mail, this was all in good fun. They are wonderful vegas locals that make this town a better place to be. I love all of you.
